Project Description

Graffiti Arts: Oasis

Local mural artists and an art teacher developed a full-time Graffiti Arts program inspired by Higher Gliffs at Oasis High School.

Through a combination of historical analysis and hands-on activities, students learned how imagery evolved from ancient societies to modern culture.  Students were taught calligraphy as well as visual arts and how to use critical thinking to relate art to issues of social justice.

Their work in an array of media was exhibited at local galleries, cafes, and community centers.
