Mr. Bongo of Duniya Dance and Drum teaches West African Drumming to the two classes of Emerson Oakland 1st graders during the 2025-2026 school year, culminating in a student showcase on February 27, 2026. Students will learn drumming fundamentals and enhance fine and gross motor skills while developing cultural appreciation with this West African music form. Emerson Oakland brings this opportunity to the entire 1st grade and we plans to expand to 2nd grade students this school year as well.
