Therapeutic Beat Making (TBM) will reach 100 10-12 grade students at Rudsdale Continuation High School with 24 weeks of TBM workshops. Students will work closely with Hip Hop music industry professionals to learn and master the use of professional-grade beat-making equipment and software to improve their own musical competencies. The program will culminate with the creation of a class album. The TBM model was developed to address a lack of culturally responsive, therapeutic, and social interventions for youth. TBM is designed to instill confidence through creativity, a mindset for positive change, and a positive outlet for expression.
