Junior Center of Art and Science: Making Connections
at Emerson Elementary
After being told what schools were in need of arts education, Junior Center stepped up to create partnerships with two of the five schools in need! Along with Carl B. Munck, they have also been funded to provide their Making Connections visual arts program to Emerson Elementary’s 2 classrooms of 2nd grade students and 1 classroom of K-2 SPED students throughout the spring! This school still has one SPED classroom that needs arts education, but all other Carl B. Munck students now have the advantage of in-school arts education every week!
The Making Connections program is an arts-integrated residency focused on introducing students to different techniques in visual arts while also making connections to classroom curriculum. The program is designed to scaffold the learning for future visual work in subsequent grades.
